Space

We also have experience of building systems and subsystems for use in the upcoming European and American space observatories Herschel (launch date: 2009), and the James Webb Space Telescope (launch date: 2013).

The instruments must be robust enough to withstand the launch conditions, be immune to the radiation encountered whilst in operation in space, and again be extremely reliable, as there is no chance to make any repairs after launch. All of the systems we deliver are tested and proven to comply with stringent NASA and ESA compliance models.
